Duplex Stainless Steel Bar/Rod
Material characteristics: It contains about 16%-18% chromium, does not contain nickel (or contains trace amounts of nickel), and is a ferritic stainless steel. Its corrosion resistance is better than that of ordinary carbon steel, but slightly lower than that of austenitic stainless steel such as 304. It is especially stable in humid or mildly corrosive environments, and has good oxidation resistance and heat resistance (can be used in environments below 800°C).Mechanical properties: medium strength, moderate hardness, good cold workability and weldability (but attention should be paid to heat treatment after welding to avoid intergranular corrosion), suitable for cutting, bending, forging and other processing.Application scenarios: It is commonly used in architectural decoration, kitchen equipment, automotive accessories, mechanical structures and other fields that have certain requirements for corrosion resistance, but do not have high requirements for high temperature strength and welding performance. As a rebar, it can be used for concrete reinforcement in humid environments, replacing some carbon steel rebars to reduce the risk of rust.Different from other stainless steels: Compared with 304 (austenitic, nickel-containing), 430 is cheaper but has slightly weaker corrosion resistance and toughness; compared with 410 (martensitic), it has better weldability and corrosion resistance but lower strength.
